SEPTEMBER 22 & 23, 2007
Our new series of messages, "463 Connect," will help our whole church get on the same track concerning the priority of prayer.
I've written a little blurb about this weekend's introductory message in the column to the right. You may ask, "What does this series have to do with our overall purpose and the strategies we employ to achieve it?" Thanks for asking. Look at the keypad of your phone. You'll see that 463 spells GOD.
Pastor John just talked about the Great Commission. I hope you grasped some of the significance of Matt. 28:18-20. Jesus instructed his followers to lead others to follow. He told us to make disciples. But how can we do that? Can we really participate in a process that alters someone's eternal destiny? What kind of power is necessary to cause someone to move from darkness to light, from death to life, from bondage to deliverance, from aimlessness to intentionality? It takes the power of God. And we access that by prayer. Only God can make a Christian. It takes supernatural strength to fulfill the Great Commission. So we need to be a praying church or we will never bring honor to God by fulfilling our mission.
