NOVEMBER 10 & 11, 2007

In my studies for this weekend's sermon I've been reading every verse I can find about us being "in Christ" and Christ being "in us." These are very deep concepts that intertwine. The study itself seems like upper division Christianity.

In today's installment of these Messages About Purpose and Strategy, I'll comment on a favorite passage I've been chewing on during my research. It is 1 Cor. 6:19,20. These verses say, "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." What a great reminder of the purpose that drives us forward in the Christian life and in the church together. We are to honor God with everything we are and everything we have. Do we do that here? Are we practicing the level of stewardship over every blessing entrusted to our care that we actually yield it all to honor God?

May Dayspring and every individual member so completely exist for God that we honor him with every action and attitude! It is all for him!
