Last week I unveiled a fresh wording for our vision statement.
The 25 words were carefully chosen to communicate a picture of what we need to
be and do. I tried to package this motivating passion for our church in a
concise and compelling way. Think of these words as a snapshot of what God wants
for and from us.
The Vision of Dayspring Fellowship is:
To glorify God by reaching out in love to more people, connecting them into authentic relationships, and growing up in maturity as followers of Christ.
You'll notice that this statement is organized around the three participles contained in our motto: Reaching, Connecting, and Growing. Just to provide a twist, let's consider what this communicates without using those same words. Sometimes putting an idea into different terms can drive home the point. Restatement reveals the core of this vision without the familiar terminology.
These 25 words envision an ever-expanding church, a loving church of people linked in real friendships, developing spiritually together and then going back out to demonstrate the love of God to restart the cycle. There's a vision for you!
