May 3 & 4, 2008

In this week's installment of my Messages About Purpose and Strategy, I want to thank you for responding so well to our appeals to get involved in the Iris Festival. 300 people have signed up to follow our mission by "reaching out in love" to our community at the festival.

I asked our leaders, Mark and Jennifer Skipper to give me a few thoughts to share with you and this is what they wrote:
We all have busy lives with things pulling at us from every side and at every moment. How encouraging it is to see so many of you who are willing to sacrifice "your time" to do the Lord's work....to represent him, to be his hands and feet out serving, loving on the people in our community. As we begin to make a habit of serving our community outside of the four walls of our church more and more people will be noticing and wondering what the motivation is to give of ourselves for the sake of others. May many, many people see the Lord working through you as his light and sacrificial love shines through you and be drawn to him. We do the work he has called us to and we leave the results up to him, knowing that he is at work. People in our community don't care what we know until they know that we care!

Good words! I absolutely agree. And I look forward to seeing you at the training meeting on Sunday at 12:30. We are planning to come together in unity and focus on how we can work together as a body to impact our community for Christ! This is fun stuff! Go Team Dayspring! I am proud of you!

Remember, our training meeting is this Sunday at 12:30pm.
