January 24 & 25

We are studying a lot about studying the Bible. Why? Because this is part of our strategy to accomplish our purpose. We honor God, giving him the glory we deserve, when we grow closer to him.

In today's Message About Purpose and Strategy, I want to provide some motivation for you to grow spiritually. Why should we put down the remote and try at all? Why stretch out of our comfort zones? It is easier to remain sedentary. But we are commanded to grow. Take a look at 2 Pet. 3:18 - "Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." And consider these excerpts from Eph. 4:13-15 - "Become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ...no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves... instead... in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ."

Living things grow. It is a sign of health. When a baby acts like a baby, it is no surprise, but it is an unusual thing when a 20 year old is still in diapers. We shouldn't remain immature. We shouldn't stagnate in our development. Personal, spiritual growth is pleasing to God. Like any parent, our Heavenly Father wants his children to develop in their spiritual maturity.
