January 31 & February 1

The whole idea of these weekly MAPS is to point to how our strategies align to fulfill our purpose. Our thriving youth ministry provides an excellent example. I'll hand over the rest of today's installment to Tim Burke so he can communicate in his own words what God has been doing in our high school group.

Our student ministry at Dayspring is reaching into a youth culture which lives in a world of indifference and abandonment. God has provided an answer to our cultures perversion, giving us hope and new life, through the redemption of Jesus Christ. We are seeing God use our ministry to break indifference by personally challenging students to live a life of purpose, service, vision, and passion.

Last weekend we took 63 students and 25 adults to Canby Grove Conference Center for a 4 day camp. Our biggest take-away from Base Camp was seeing our students become empowered ministers who actually live the gospel. On Saturday all 63 students and the majority of the leaders served all over the city of Portland. They handed out care packages, prayed with the homeless, sorted clothes, cleaned and organized coolers, disinfected beds, cleaned toilets, and prepared meals for students their age who live in crisis.

Dayspring students have caught the vision to live a life of impact for Christ. This week we had 152 students join us on Wednesday night for THE EDGE. At our high school program 10 students 2 leaders, and 2 moms shared their powerful camp experiences. Afterwards, 3 students and 2 leaders lead 5 unbelieving students to faith in Jesus Christ.

My challenge to the rest of Dayspring is to not miss what God is doing, serve with all your heart, live with passion and purpose for Jesus Christ!

I love you all

Pastor Tim
