Every now and then I come across a passage in the Bible that is so motivating I just have to share it with someone. These weekly Messages About Purpose and Strategy provide me just such an opportunity! The verses I want to share with you are Col 1:28,29 - "We proclaim him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me." Wow! Read those two sentences again. I could preach a message on this text alone! Paul the Apostle explains his passion. He communicates Christ. His serious commitment is to lead people to spiritual maturity. Nothing will stop him. He works hard helping people grow in their faith, but his work isn't really the power behind the process, it is God's strength that is at work in and through him. This presents a beautiful balance. As we influence others to follow Christ, our efforts are empowered by God's magnificent energy! Let's proclaim Christ, communicating with wisdom so that people follow him closely. This takes hard work, but we can really rely on God's supernatural power.
